If you're here, then chances are you've begun playing and have wondered what you're supposed to be doing (and perhaps how to keep your pets from dying). Or maybe you haven't begun playing yet and are wondering where to start. Either way, we've got you covered. Everyone has to start somewhere and since we've all been there before, we made this handy guide.

Pets

TerrePets is a virtual pet game, and as such, pets play a major part in the game.

When you first create an account, you're given a pet with a random graphic and a random name. If you don't like its name, you can change it in the Pet Shelter. If you don't like how it looks, you need to save money until you can afford to adopt a brand new pet.

The button

Brand new accounts are given 25 house hours. House hours allow your pet to do various different actions. In fact, your pet won't do anything until you use your house hours by clicking on the Run House Hours button.

You gain an additional house hours in real time. 1 hour in real life = 1 house hour in TerrePets. House hours are capped at 36 hours.

Death

Good news: pets can't die! ...yet. Although death hasn't been implemented yet, you should still keep food in your house because "starving" pets aren't very productive as they can waste house hours looking for food to eat. You can buy food from the Grocery Store or the Flea Market.

Guidelines

DON'T

  • DON'T abandon your starter pet immediately if you don't like it. It's nearly impossible to make money in this game without having any pets.
  • DON'T adopt as many pets as you can until you're sure you can afford to feed all of them.
  • DON'T spend all your money on Butter at the Grocery Store. You can't feed it to your pets.

DO

  • DO run your house hours whenever possible. House hours are capped at 36 hours.
